The goal of this research project, which has an environmental focus, is to study and compare the environmental policies, practices and processes of the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, USA, in addition to outside factors that may also have an influence.   They are untrained and inefficient to boost up the agricultural productivity. On the other side, the health of our farmers is improper due to rural backwardness. Literacy rate is only % in Pakistan. Economic Survey of Pakistan shows that literacy remains higher in urban areas ( percent) than in rural areas ( percent).

The Society for Bangladesh Agricultural Extension Network (BAEN) recently organized a survey among Extension and Advisory service providers in Bangladesh to understand the challenges faced by farmers due to COVID and the effectiveness of the measures aimed at addressing them. In this blog, Dr. Sekender Ali presents findings from this survey. The environmental impacts of irrigation relate to the changes in quantity and quality of soil and water as a result of irrigation and the effects on natural and social conditions in river basins and downstream of an irrigation impacts stem from the altered hydrological conditions caused by the installation and operation of the irrigation scheme.

Valley Irrigation Pakistan (Private) Limited is also the exclusive representative in Pakistan of Valmont Irrigation’s “Valley” brand of irrigation equipment. Barrages are used as a supply of irrigation to the agricultural land. In Pakistan, there are four Barrages: Sukkur Barrage, Guddu Barrage, Kotri Barrage, and Chashma Barrage are well known. A canal is a basic mean that provides water from the river to agriculture field where it is required. Canals are come out of rivers, dams, and barrages.

Farm irrigation constraints and farmers' responses--comprehensive field survey in Pakistan by Max K. Lowdermilk,Water Management Research Project, Engineering Research Center, Colorado State University edition, in English.

Merrey and J. Wolf. Leveling of fields: Flood irrigation uses gravity to transport water, and, since water flows downhill, it will miss a part of the field that is on a hill, even a small hill. Farmers are using leveling equipment, some of which is guided by a laser beam, to scrape a field flat before planting.

The forthcoming report aims to increase understanding of the diversity of women’s roles in agriculture, the constraints women face as farmers and rural labourers, the costs of these constraints in terms of agricultural productivity and broader.

Surveys Census of Irrigation. The Irrigation and Water Management Survey (formerly called the Farm and Ranch Irrigation Survey) is a follow-on to the Census of Agriculture.

This survey provides the only comprehensive information on irrigation activities and water use across American farms, ranches, and horticultural operations.

Drip irrigation for orchids is an excellent example. No progress has been made in the on-farm water storage sector, although talks about these activities are in progress in the print media. Universities all over Pakistan have started schemes allocating land to landless agriculture graduates so that they can put their skills to practical use.

WASHINGTON, J – The World Bank today approved $ million to support agricultural productivity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), by improving irrigation, strengthening small farmers. South African agriculture is comprised of mainly two categories of farmers -- the subsistence farmers in the former homeland areas and the large-scale commercial (mainly white) farmers.

Urban Agriculture by Mohamed Samer. This book provides useful information about Urban Agriculture, which includes the production of crops in small to large lots, vertical production on walls, windows, rooftops, urban gardens, farmer's markets, economic models of urban gardening, peri-urban agricultural systems, and spatial planning and evolution of the land uses.

Irrigation is the process of applying controlled amounts of water to plants at needed intervals. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall.

Irrigation also has other uses in crop production, including frost protection, suppressing weed growth in grain fields and preventing soil. Lowdermilk, M. K., Freeman, D. and Early, A.

The improvement of surface irrigation performance at field level is currently facing several problems (Berthomé; Tron et al., ; Pereira, ): The variability, in time and in space, of infiltration characteristics is often very important. This induces water runoff and deep percolation in some parts of the field while others are underirrigated.

Literacy rate is only % in Pakistan. Economic Survey of Pakistan shows that literacy remains higher in urban areas ( percent) than in rural areas ( percent). Pakistan’s agricultural productivity is dependent upon the timely availability of water.

Table Agriculture Growth Percentages (Base=) Sector (P).The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of short-term loan (STL) vs long-term loan (LTL) on wheat productivity of small farms in Sindh, Pakistan.,The econometric estimation is based on cross-sectional data collected in from 18 villages in three districts, i.e.

Shikarpur, Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh, Pakistan. The sample data set consist of wheat farmers. Agricultural extension (also known as agricultural advisory services) plays a crucial role in boosting agricultural productivity, increasing food security, improving rural livelihoods, and promoting agriculture as an engine of pro-poor economic growth.
